Stephen King was born in Portland, Maine in 1947. He was awarded
a scholarship to The University of Maine. He lives with his wife and three
children in Bangor, Maine, his home state and the place where he feels
he belongs. His first novel was CARRIE and this was subsequently filmed.
He wrote a string of best selling novels like SALEM' LOT, THE SHINING,
IT, MISERY, FOUR PAST MIDNIGHT, DOLORES CLAIRBORNE, INSOMNIA .
